Virtual, Virtual told you? Behind every avatar is hiding a human being wishing to express his personality through the look of their digital host … There is the use of virtual goods.

The whole fashion clothing, accessories, cosmetics, jewelry … is one way for everyone to differentiate. There is the existence of creators, designers, distributors of virtual goods.

The community residents of Second Life is the first global marketplace for the exchange of virtual goods, each teleporting from sim to sim to find the good coveted … Here is the idea of creating the SIMODE.

With over 55 million $ of turnover generated in 2009 by its residents in exchange for virtual goods, Second Life is the hub for most creative diversity in fashion.

June 1st to 30th, 2010 the first international exhibition of fashion “virtual” hosting 72 exhibitors from around the world representing the greatest creators and distributors of clothing and fashion accessories for avatars.

30 days of exposure, any kind of event …

During this month, all day events are held providing the best possible visibility to artists and professionals who have opted to settle on the sim in renting a booth.

For visitors daily are available for events and activities primarily related to fashion. On site, the reception staff will be established to assist you in your visit.

A streaming radio stations operated by the partners will run continuously (special events, concerts, clubbing, commentators parades, interviews …).

Make a living, unique, creative dynamic quality showing in Second Life, this is one of the bet for this event.

About SIMODE

It was the meeting of several members of the french community was born the idea of SIMODE.

Evenementia, virtual society to organize events in Second Life is behind the project. France3D first french community gatway, Jetsetlife radio and Hippo radio stations dedicated to the first virtual reference and finally Juracom, web agency specializing in the integration of businesses in Second Life are partners.

SIMODE is a contraction of sim (simulator), also called island in Second Life Fashion.

The first Metaverse Association Contest “Gadgets & Tools”, to be held in Second Life,  is about the challenge to create a smart gadget or tool that adds something to the functionality of Second Life and / or between Second Life and “Real Life”.
The contest is meant for individual developpers, and contestants who want to take part are asked to subscribe on personal title.

Rules to subscription are:

• Just individual subscriptions (so not groups or teams)
• The gadget or tool to be submitted can either be a Second Life tool or a Second Life -/Real Life-tool
• Subscription before 12 May (so we have time to make a sort of presentation scedule and all preparations needed to make this a success.
• Agree to present the gadget or tool in English or French on 19 May 2009, between 20:00 and 23:00 (Paris time / 11.00 am - 2.00 pm SLT) to the jury and an audience. (Max 10 minutes)

Info needed to subscribe:

• Avatar name
• Name of the gadget or tool
• A short description of the tool/gadget (max 100 words)
• How many prims it needs to be shown (so that we are sure to save enough prims)
• Whether you want to show slides (or video) with the presentation
• Your URL, if you have one.
• (optional) If possible a screenshot or picture of the gadget or tool
• (optional) portrait and short bio of the participant, for the metaverse galerie.. but of course this can also be done at the Galerie and then we can help with this.

Offers:

1. First prize: 3000 L$ and a shop at Metaverse Shops for 3 months to sell or give away tools and gadgets. (30 prims) from 20 May until 20 August
2. Second prize: 2000 L$ and half a shop at Metaverse Shops for 3 months to sell or give away tools and gadgets. (15 prims) from 20 May until 20 August
3. Third prize: 1000 L$ and half a shop at Metaverse Shops for 3 month to sell or give away tools and gadgets. (15 prims) from 20 May until 20 August

All other participants: the option to sell (against 20% commission) or give away the presented tool in the Metaverse Shops.( 5 prims)

Jury

Because we really consider that the creations brought in are  the precious “fruits” of creative and smart minds, we want to treat them fair and with respect. It is therefor that we really want to try to bring together a group of people, of whom we know that they understand the importance of innovations and development.

For this reason, and of course because we don’t want the honored members of the jury being bribed or blackmailed We will only announce the full jury only short before the actual contest.

That is what has been planned for Tuesday evening, 21 April at the metaverse Association in
Second Life in the sim Bellobas (Direct slurl) The program for this event is as following:

At 20.30 (Paris time) we will start the evening with the opening of the photo exhibition by Nicolas Artful (Nicolas Claeyssen, France). He will be present in the Metaverse Galerie to speak about his first exhibition in Second Life, which shows artistical erotic photography.

At about 21.30, also Paris time, Gregleens Merlin will be at the Metaverse Theater (slurl naar het Theater) to present his unique, and for France already famous,  Second Life Toolbar for Firefox. And as the Metaverse Association has of course an international focus, he will for this occasion also have on offer (for free!) the new, English version of this SL-toolbar.

At about 22.00 (Paris time/CET) the announcement will take place for the new, Metaverse Association Contest “Gadgets & Tools” and starting from that moment subscription to that contest will be open.

Finally, at 22.30 the great scripter ssm2017 Binder will give us a presentation about his newest scripts and tricks. What these will be is still a surprise to all.
